How is going braless is a thing?
People often say that one of the perks of having small boobs is being able to go out braless, but I honestly can’t relate to that at all.
For me, being insecure about a body part means not wanting other people to notice it. Going braless often does the opposite. Yes, I don’t really need a bra for support with my A (or maybe AA?) cup boobs. What I often want from a bra is the padding, because it gives my chest a little more shape and makes me feel much more confident. Ialso have a protruding rib cage, which makes me feel even more self-conscious when I go braless.
The biggest issue for me is my nipples. I don’t know why, but it seems like many bigger chested women can go braless without their nipples being as noticeable, whereas many women with smaller boobs, myself included, have nipples that are more visible or pointier.
So when I go braless in the summer, I often feel flatter, and dresses especially don’t fit the way I want them to. On top of that, my nipples are very noticeable, which draws even more attention to my chest and makes me feel more insecure.
I also feel uncomfortable with the attention from men when my nipples are visible. It can feel sexualized unless you’re in a place where going braless is more normalized.
What has your experience been? I’d genuinely like to understand, because right now I relate to the idea that “small boobs make going braless easier” 0%.
