SBI users, what's your experience?

I'm thinking about opening a savings account in SBI. I already use Slice as my main account, so this one would mostly be for offline banking and as a long-term backup.

I've heard mixed opinions about SBI. Some people say it's the most reliable bank, while others say the branch service can be frustrating.

If you're an SBI customer, how has your experience been? Would you recommend opening an account there today? Is there anything I should know before I decide? Also, what charges do you actually pay, such as debit card annual charges, SMS charges, cheque book charges, or any other fees that new customers should be aware of?
