been making ai movies since january and the biggest quality jump had nothing to do with the model. it was learning the names of camera movements and using quality prompts that describe those movements

for months i didnt know what shots were called, so id write vague stuff like "cinematic shot of a man walking" and let the ai pick the camera move. always came out random and amateur.

the fix was dumb simple: name the exact move. instead of "cinematic shot of a man walking" i write the prompt that explains very detailed the camera movement. same subject, totally different feeling.

these are the same moves hollywood uses (dolly, crane, arc, dolly zoom, snorricam). the models already know them, so naming one gives u control instead of letting the ai guess. but if on top of that you add prompt describing the movement, then its even better

i put the ones i use most into a [free prompt library](https://www.freeaivideohub.com/camera-movements?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=aivideo&utm_content=film_ai), 18 shots, each a ready prompt u drop ur subject into. adding more + video examples weekly.

honest note: these dont make the video, its a prompt generator not an ai model, thats why its free. u get a detailed prompt to tweak and paste into whatever tool u use.

also made a [transition prompt tool](https://www.freeaivideohub.com/transition-video?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=aivideo&utm_content=film_ai) for smooth clip handoffs if useful.

what other shots should i add nexttt?

the thing that finally made my ai videos look cinematic: naming the camera movement in the prompt
