Is Capcom really going to end World Tour after just Retconning it all?

I'm mad as hell right now, i was just planning to go back to playing it since the new characters are coming, thinking "damn i hope they do a good job of making these characters interesting on their first appearence(and Tifa?) but then i read that the world tour is actually going to end for some reason, and now i got into a wormhole looking for some reason, but i only got spoiled that Ingrid just freaking resets the timeline and just undoes EVERYTHING in world tour, making the whole mode useless and putting everything back at the starting point....

I'm not a Competitive player so this honestly killed my desire to start playing again....i just hope now Virtua Fighter at least can make up for it when it releases.
