Would There be Mobile-Compatible Games inThe Future?
While there's been a Steam app for years, it's primarily designed for social stuff and cloud purchases. It would be fantastic to play games that already have mobile ports, like Stardew Valley, Terraria, and Little Nightmares, available to play through the Steam mobile app. I really hate having to buy games again just to enjoy them on my phone. Plus, it would be great to access Steam's achievement system while gaming on the go.
I don’t have a Steam Deck, and honestly, I’m not planning to get one because it’s just too pricey here. Valve store doesn’t have support on my country, so I’d have to buy from retailers that charge way more. I already own most of these games on my Switch and phone, but it really frustrates me that the Switch lacks an achievements system. Plus, achievements on mobile don’t transfer to Steam, which makes me avoid playing them on those platforms as much as I can.
So, in the future, would devs be able to port games on mobile or would games be able to run natively on mobile through proton? Especially android since they've already made Steam games work on Linux, and android is technically based on linux kernel.
