I stopped playing for quite a long time and I feel a bit lost with the current mechanics and the current meta.

Defense

My defense works well even with an attacking fullback. I really like the players I have there, and most of the time they don’t disappoint me. (Sometimes I also use my attackers to help defend, creating something similar to a "haramball" style.)

Midfield

I have always been the type of player who likes to build up plays, carry the ball, and create a good progression from the back to the midfield. However, I feel like I have to do an excellent job to connect with my attackers.

Defensively, my midfielders look lost. They leave obvious gaps for the opponent. Tchouaméni sometimes feels like he turns into a fullback because of how badly positioned he is, and Pirlo follows him, creating a huge space in the middle. Sneijder also disappears from the game too often and feels like he hides from the play.

Attack

When the ball reaches Neymar or Yamal, I usually try to dribble and shoot into the corner. I rarely go to the byline and try to find a cutback pass for Sneijder or Suárez.

Suárez is a good striker, but I feel like he attacks spaces in a way that doesn’t fit my playstyle. I think the problem might actually be my entire formation, causing a chain reaction where every player starts making mistakes, like a domino effect.

Honestly, I don’t really know what I am doing right or wrong.

I don’t think my gameplay is bad. I’m the type of player who accepts my own mistakes and I don’t blame the game for handicap or scripting. There are moments where I win 3 or 4 matches in a row even when my team doesn’t seem to cooperate.

I usually rely on individual plays, as I mentioned. It feels like my team depends on one player having an amazing performance and carrying the match. If that doesn’t happen, I struggle to create anything and I lose.

I’m open to constructive criticism about my gameplay, formation changes, and player choices. Any advice would be appreciated
