first time building an actual tool and hosting(fullkeyboardtest.com) – Need your honest feedback and advice on getting traffic and long term goal on wheather i could make actual money ?
I am recent cse grad , i do backend dev(nodjs and go) and am dsa addict.
till now, i was mostly trying to build complex backend systems and college projects, but I really wanted to experience what it's actually like to build, host, run a live tool for the public and monitize(if possible) .
So, I created fullkeyboardtest.com— a simple utility to check for dead keys and test keyboard functionality.
Since this is my first time ever hosting a website, I’d be really grateful if you guys could check it out and share your reviews on the UI and performance.
I also have a few genuine doubts and would love your guidance:
getting traffic - How do you even get initial traffic for a utility site like this? I have absolutely zero background in marketing or SEO.
monetization - I see there are already some pretty solid competitors out there. Is there any chance I could earn money in this space eventually, or is the market too saturated?
I want to learn how this whole journey works so I can build more tools in the future. Any suggestions, thoughts, or harsh truths would be really helpful.
