Looking to play Minecraft with my kids and family, but not sure what to choose

Hello all!
I'm a dad who wants to play Minecraft with his kids, neices and nephews and I'm looking for some advice on how to make it happen.

We've all got Gamepass but I haven't played since the Beta Java days.

I believe the version we're going to want is Bedrock? As that's on all devices? (it's only a couple of us with PC's, most have xbox etx)

I think i'll be looking at hosting a realm so everyone can play together or individually at times that works for them.

My biggest question is, can I insert marketplace content to Realms and is there a recommended list to look at?

I'd really like to add in things like Tinkers for added weapon depth, maybe some other realms if the kids get bored, but are there controls for griefing or locking down creative mode?
