Any recommendations for a 3-mon team that includes one of the starters?

To preface, I’m using an emulator and I have access to all mons up to and including Gen IV and any TMs they can learn using cheats. I’ll be catching them at lvl 5 at base evolution.

I like to use as small a team as possible for my playthroughs, not counting HM slaves.

My favorite for Platinum is Infernape, Garchomp, and Starmie, but I also like to use Torterra, Salamence, and Gallade. I haven’t found a good setup for Empoleon though.

The first setup is:

Infernape: Flare Blitz, Close Combat, Shadow Claw, Thunderpunch/Grass Knot.

Garchomp: Outrage, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Crunch.

Starmie: Psychic, Surf, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt.

The second is:

Torterra: Wood Hammer, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Crunch.

Salamence: Dragon Claw/Outrage, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Aqua Tail.

Gallade: Close Combat, Psycho Cut/Zen Headbutt, Ice Punch, Thunderpunch/Leaf Blade/Aerial Ace.

Any recommendations for a 3-mon Empoleon team or a better team for the ones I mentioned? I’m also open to 3-mon teams that don’t include the starter, but I try to avoid using legendaries.
