Is It Safe to Run a 2500W Induction Cooker on a 16 AWG Heavy-Duty Extension Cord?
I live in the Philippines and rent an apartment. I'm planning to buy a 2500W induction cooker, but the kitchen wall outlet is too far away for the power cord to reach.
I have a 16 AWG heavy-duty extension cord and was wondering if it would be safe to use with a 2500W induction cooker. The extension cord is rated for up to 2500W.
I know high-power appliances can draw a lot of current and that extension cords can be a fire risk if they're not suitable. Has anyone used a similar setup? Would a 16 AWG extension cord be safe for continuous use with a 2500W induction cooker, or should I look for a thicker gauge cord or another solution?
Any advice would be appreciated.
