EDIT: QUARTER PITBULL!!! (Sorry!!! The information was learned after the post was created and I can’t change the title). The other quarter is a BLACK LABRADOR, the other 50% are the unknown

Hi yall. This is my mom’s dog. A family member gave her to us many years back. They only have female Pitbulls (EDIT: grandma was pure bred pit, who tangled w a pure bred black lab, resulting in my dog’s mom), so this one’s daddy was a fence jumper (scandalous!), and I’ve always wondered what the other half could possibly be. I’ve always found her fur curious, it’s kind of curly (and very soft).

\*their Pitbulls are all short haired (EDIT: grandma!)

I don’t know many breeds so I’m lost. Figured reddit had a place to ask. Here we are

Here are some things that might help pointing you in some direction:

\- She’s a leaner, leans on you with her whole body.
\- She likes hugs
\- She’s very delicate when getting treats from your hands, like a slow delicate nibble
\- I’d say she’s mid-large sized
\- She lays like that a lot (last picture)
\- She has siblings. I’ve only ever seen one, and they’re black and white spotted. Around the same size
\- The family member who gave her to us lives in a gated neighborhood. My guess is people there have money to buy breeds. So I’m not sure if it could be a street dog, or a neighbor’s dog (EDIT: now confirmed mom’s mom was purebred pit and mom’s dad was purebred black lab. Still up to debate on the other 50%!)

That’s all I can think about for now

Thank you in advance!

Edit: Hey so, thank you for all the replies. I’m getting a better idea of what she could be! I had no idea all of these breeds existed.
I would love to get her DNA tested, but those are pricey and unfortunately not in the budget right now since it’s just more of a curiosity than necessity to know her possible breed. But if I ever do, I’ll be sure to update you

Edit 2: I’m getting curious so I’m looking into the mother a bit more! Does seem likely she’s not 100% pit, doesn’t it? Might take a while but I’ll ask

EDIT 3: GUYS I’VE GOT NEWS. I asked around, turns out she’s QUARTER pit, quarter black lab, and 50% unknown. I’m very sorry, I didn’t mean to mislead anyone. I was also under the impression the mother was full pit (but I also only remember from when I was a kid 😭 and everyone kept calling them pitbulls as an umbrella term apparently). That said, the other 50% are up for debate. So far people seem to think Collie? Or golden? Sounds about right (given how common they are where she lives compared to australian shepherds)

I’ll post the recently acquired pics of grandma and mom! (Gradma is the brown pit, mom is the black and white pit/lab mix)

Half Pitbull half…something?
