Opinions on wether I should adopt one or two kittens
Hi I know this question has been asked a few times but I just wanted some input and advice if that’s okay
Me and my partner are going this weekend to look at some kittens!
We do currently have an older feline cat that’s 8 this year, her names Daisy. She’s extremely good with other cats and considering how much she loves to play, we’re worried she’s lonely at times. We’ve always wanted to get another cat and now that things are stable, we’ve been looking into it.
Here’s the dilemma.
We rent in a granny flat outside of my partners, parents house - so Daisy wonders in and out very often since she was originally the family cat until they got a dog.
I’d say she’s in here right now about 35-40% of the time, and in the main house about 60%.
We were originally only planning on getting one but we’re open to two. I’m worried since Daisy isn’t always out here, one kitten would get lonely. We both work from home so the kitten would always have company, but if we do go to appointments etc, I hate the idea that they’d be out here potentially on their own.
We can try transition Daisy out here full time, but we both believe she likes the independence to be able to choose where she stays.
My partners grown up fostering kittens, strays etc so they 100% know what they’re doing and don’t think we’ll be stuck overwhelmed at all. I think a part of me is worried the foster won’t want us to take two because we do already have Daisy in here whenever she likes - that could be a completely out of touch worry, i’ve never adopted before.
(INFO: The kittens we’re going to see is a litter of four, they’re still waiting for their vet work to be done so they won’t be available until a week after. From what we know of, we’re the first to be able to see them and non of them currently have listings up to be adopted)
Any opinions, advice, sharing of stories would be beyond amazing! Thank you so much :)
