AITAH for refusing to agree on changing the school subject

So my high school is known for being a sonewhat popular school in the town because it have styff seems somewhat more premiun than the usual public school, one of those stuff is subject like "japanese", so after the first grade of highschool we are allowed to choose one out of many class that we are given what the subjects will be, because i wanted to study japanese literary, i choose a class that has japanese in it, it was one of two classes, and this gonna be important but if the number of the people who wanted to be in a class is much more than tge max capacity they are gonna be judged by their grades and most likely can or cannot keep up, if not then they are put in classes that they choose as their second choice, if not again, then third then so on, today is the day we attend our new class and now everyone wants to ask the school to change japanese to whatever else bc they thought it was a useless lesson, and turns out everyone else was here because this isnt their first second nor third choice but somewhat lastest choice and im the only one whose here for the actual subject, not just that but they are the troublesome kids of the school, in which i cant really argue much with them, the school hasn't agreed yet on their propossl but still in consideration, im currently somewhat beibg avoided and others talk behind my back, i felt like i was being egoist, but on the other side i felt like i have the right to learn what i want, they too but they arent accepted in their original choice which means they are less likely to be able to keep up with the subject they wanted like in the original, i was thinking to just ask to move me to the second class that has japanese literary, but turns out they also voted to change it, so AITAH?
