It’s frustrating how lenient some subreddits are about genAI

Discussion 🗣️

I’m fairly new to Reddit and probably just haven’t explored the site enough, but the subs I’m currently in or enjoy reading through all seem to have some guideline about being lenient about genAI. Sometimes it feels like if I were to vent about my frustrations with genAI that I would probably get booted from those subs.
I don’t think I need to preach about the harmful environmental and psychological effects of genAI here as this sub is meant to spread that awareness, but it’s so frustrating to see how many people and communities here push this forced inevitability of “genAI is here to stay.”
Not to sound cheesy, but what happened to the process of imagination and creating art and stories? Not to say it’s completely gone. We have so many real artists and authors still imagining and creating, but I miss when we didn’t have to second guess art.
