Laptop screen blinking and "turning off"

Hi! So like two days ago i tried playing bg3 on mint and the screen started flickiring black and "shutting down", like it would turn black show me the password screen then black again then it would flicker, while that happened i couldnt turn off the computer like the I/O button didnt work. So after all that i talked with some people and they said that maybe the kernel was too old for my motherboard, so now im on CachyOs, and no surprise, it still happens. Rn it just happened while i was normally using the laptop. Does anyone know what can i do to fix this? Thanks in advance.
