What are your reasons for being OAD?

OAD By Choice

Personally, I like my sleep a little too much to go through the newborn phase again lol. My husband and I aren’t the friendliest people to be around when we’re running on 2-3 hours of broken sleep everyday lol.

People keep telling me that my little girl needs a sibling so she won’t be lonely. I admit we were fence sitters for a while but we decided against having another for reasons other than lack of sleep. We want to give LO the best of everything: food, clothing, education, the works and we may not be able to do that with another child.

Also I’m 35 and LO is 6 months. We’re enjoying her as much as we can and I don’t want to go through all those worrisome tests again. I’m high anxiety and overthink a lot. So yeah I want to show up as the best version of myself, not only as a mother but as a wife, daughter etc. PPA/PPD is brutal, period.

Please tell me I’m not being selfish because I’m OAD. I came to this conclusion keeping in mind everyone’s best interests. Any thoughts, experiences, and advice would be appreciated!
