Gamers i need help

So im considering buying gta6 for my boyfriend as like a 1year anniversary gift, but im not sure how all that works. Is it still possible to like pre order it and stuff? And where would i even buy it? Like should i get a physical copy or do i buy it through his playstation? I have his playstation at my house but im not sure if he’ll get notified or anything and i want to keep it a suprise.. if anyone has any details or other suggestions for gifts i would really appreciate it! 🫶🏻
