Advice for a blind witch OCs?

I'm writing a fanfic.

The OC is a girl. She's 19 years old but known as 17 so she goes to high schools. She's blind. She has a cane she uses as a weapon as well while using it as her navigator object in the normal days.

She's a magic nerd and has a "i have to know everything, tell me everything" tendency. She's creative of using magic. Making origami birds and using them as weapons like flying arrows you control or a whip that comes out of your shortened cane or...etc.

She has a lega guardian, an adult figure she can rely on. He's magically tied to her. He's dutied to be her eyes in her normal life and protect her from harm. He has this magic tattoo on his arm that protects him from supernatural attacks. It has its limits and flaws, but he manages it. He was an elite solider before he met her. He lost someone due to his trust towards vampires, so he's kind of a protective daddy guy.

They came to Mystic Falls because they're running from something and the OC needs a small town place to stay hidden(?)

I'm reading a lot essays and reddits in the blind section. And I'll try my best to write it accurately and not offense people who are really blind in reality...

Any advices?
