Evidence based practice essays in nursing school broke me until I figured out one thing

EBP essays feel different from regular academic writing because you're not just making an argument, you're building a case from research that has to meet specific standards. Not every source counts. Not every study is equal.

The thing that clicked for me was understanding hierarchy of evidence before I started writing rather than after. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses at the top, expert opinion at the bottom. Once I knew where my sources sat in that hierarchy I could structure the argument around the strongest evidence and acknowledge the limitations of the weaker stuff rather than pretending they were all equal.

That one shift made my EBP essays significantly more coherent and the feedback reflected it.
