Hiking Setup for easy lens switching

How do I ...

I’m a hiker that owns a Sony A6400 with a Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 as my default lens which I always bring along on my hikes.

My current setup for multi-day hikes is a Ulanzi F38 backpack clip and a cheap travel tripod which I will bring along with a 40-50L backpack.

For an upcoming multi-day hike, my friend is kindly lending me a Tamron 70-300mm FF lens and I’m planning to buy a Sony 11mm f/1.8 lens (for landscape and Astro), which I plan to bring both along with my existing Tamron.

Weight for me isn’t an issue as I’ve done multi-day hikes with pretty heavy backpacks before.

My current solution is either to

  1. Have a waterproof camera sling bag which I will sling across my chest for easy access my lenses (cons: sweat more) OR
  2. Just put the telephoto and wide angle lens at the top compartment of my bag and put my bag down when I want to access them (cons: cumbersome to access)

My question is: How do y’all make it easier to do lens switching on hikes? And any advice for improvement on the current setup?
