How does one get chosen to sing an OST?

Hi everyone! I just read that Seventeen's Dino sang an OST that was recently released. It got me to thinking about how this came about. Is there an open audition call? Do the producers want a specific sound and go through idol voices, then invite several to a closed audition? Perhaps the producers contact a specific idol? Something else I haven't thought of?

Thanks for answering!
