Gender neutral-ish name for Brian
Hi all. I consider myself to be a nonbinary transfem person. I don't consider myself be binary, as I don't want to identify as a woman. I do, however, consider myself someone who has a gender identity that is entirely feminine, or as I like to call myself "someone who is feminine-aligned."
My masc/given name is Brian. I love the name Brianne. However, I feel this attaches too many assumptions to it. I was looking into sort of unisex options for my name, which is heavily masculine, and the one that stood out to me is "Briane."
From what I've read, its basically a unisex/gender neutral alternative spelling for Brian. I am guessing it can, like many other names, be attached to someone who identifies as male or female. Could be pronounced "Brian" but also "Brianne," depending on the person who has the name obviously.
My goal is to have a name that is similar to mine as to not confuse people. Plus, I like it.
Also, I love Brianne. When my mom was pregnant with me, they thought I was going to be a girl, so they had the name Katie picked.
I think if I was going to be someone who is binary, I would love Brianne Kate Galloway.
Or, Katie Brianne Galloway.
I dunno.
So, Briane Galloway for nonbinary
Brianne Kate Galloway for binary
Katie Brianne Galloway
Or Brianne Katie Galloway
Any thoughts?
