Are there any UK charities that help young people attend major sporting events?
I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction.
I know a UK teenager who loves American sports and has had a challenging year due to a short-term, serious condition. The condition is expected to be curable, however they've undergone multiple surgeries, spent long periods away from school and sport, and faced a lengthy rehabilitation.
I would, with the permission of their parents, look to apply to see whether it would be possible to organise for them to attend an upcoming event hosted in the UK next year. However, the charities I know of and have looked at all have an eligibility criteria consisting of the child living with a serious or life threatening illness.
I'm not asking whether anyone has spare tickets or for donations. I'm simply looking for recommendations of organisations that:
grant sporting wishes or experiences,
support young people recovering from serious medical conditions, or have previously helped families access major sporting events.
If you've had experience with something similar, or know of a charity or programme I should contact, I'd really appreciate your advice.
Are there any methods of obtaining a wish-type award but for children who are living with less severe health issues not included by the more well-known charities?
