dental experience

Hey everyone, ualberta uni student here!

I want to go into dentistry in the future, and am wondering if anyone knows any clinics that are open to having someone shadow for a long period of time (need to rack up hours!), or how one can start helping out in a dental lab or setting. Everyone says get experience, but no one says how. If anyone has any advice about talking to clinics, I'd really appreciate it.
