AITA for not wanting to share a hotel room with my long-distance boyfriend when we meet for the first time?

NTA

For some context, I met my boyfriend when I was 14, literally the day before his 18th birthday, through a Discord server (I know, not exactly the greatest start). Nothing romantic happened at first, we were just friends. We didn’t become a couple until I was around 15 and he was 19.
I know the age gap is going to be a big focus, so I’ll just address it upfront. Throughout our relationship, he’s never pressured me into anything I wasn’t comfortable with. He’s genuinely been my best friend for years.
I’m not close with my family at all, and I only have a small friend group that I rarely get to see. He’s been one of my biggest sources of emotional support. On the other hand, he’s very close with his family and has a large group of friends.
He’s also made a lot of sacrifices for me over the years. There have been plenty of times where he’s turned down hanging out with friends just so we could spend time together calling or watching movies. He’s incredibly generous too. Overall he’s spent thousands on me, including buying me a Darry Ring worth around $2,000. It’s technically an engagement ring, but he gave it to me as a promise ring.
That said, our relationship hasn’t been perfect. We’ve been on and off a few times, mostly because of me. One of the biggest issues is that he has a much higher sex drive than I do. I have past trauma that makes me a lot less interested in sex, and it’s made me question whether we’re actually compatible.
Whenever I’ve talked to him about it, he’s always been understanding and backed off. He’s never made me feel forced into anything. The problem is that I end up feeling guilty anyway. I feel like I’m failing as a girlfriend because I can’t meet his needs, even though he reassures me that it’s okay.
One thing that has always bothered me is that, early in our relationship, he lied about my age to some of his friends to make our relationship sound more acceptable. As far as I know, they eventually found out the truth, but it’s something that’s never sat right with me.
For some additional context, before me he was in another long-distance relationship with a girl from Germany. He eventually traveled there and stayed with her in a hotel for about a week. They broke up shortly afterward because she was talking to other guys.
Now here’s my current problem.
I’m turning 18 on July 17th, and he’s planning to fly to my country on August 6th. His plan is for us to spend a full week together in the same hotel room.
I’ve told him multiple times that I’m uncomfortable with that and that I’d rather not share a room, at least not the first time we ever meet in person. Every time I bring it up, he doesn’t really seem to acknowledge my concerns and is still very close to booking the flights and hotel. (In his words, he wouldn’t be able to handle the distance after waiting years to see me, so sharing a room and bed is important to him.)
There are a few reasons I’m so nervous:
We’ve known each other for years, but we’ve never actually met in person.
He rarely sends clear pictures of himself because he’s very insecure. Most of the photos he’s sent are distant mirror selfies. I know he isn’t catfishing me, we call constantly, and I’ve spoken to his friends and family, but I still don’t feel like I have a fully clear idea of what he actually looks like.
The one time he mailed me a package with his hoodie, boxers, Lego flowers, and some other gifts, his clothes didn’t seem to be in great condition. Combined with things I’ve picked up on over years of talking, photos, and calls, I’ve started to wonder whether his personal hygiene is as good as it should be.
His high sex drive worries me. Even though he’s never pressured me before, being alone together for a week and sharing a bed makes me anxious.
Spending seven straight days with someone I’ve never met in person feels like a massive commitment. If things are awkward or uncomfortable, there’s no easy way to get space.
I feel like this post probably makes it sound like I don’t love him, but that’s honestly not the case. I really do love him, and in many ways he’s been one of the best and most supportive people in my life.
I genuinely like our relationship as it is now. We call every day, watch movies together, text constantly, and send each other pictures of our day. I’m happy with that.
I just don’t think I’m ready to jump straight into spending a week alone in a hotel room with someone I’ve never met face to face before.
So..AITA for wanting to slow things down? I honestly don’t know what to do.
