*Hoshin is a melee skirmisher who thrives on patience and precision. Using his signature Q, "Slip", to narrowly evade incoming attacks, he builds Rhythm throughout combat before entering Preparation to wait for the perfect opportunity to unleash a decisive finishing strike. Opponents who overcommit are punished instantly, while those who hesitate risk surrendering control of the duel entirely.*

*A short-to-mid range duelist that prioritises position, pacing and timing over everything else - execute your micro fundamentals better than your opponent and you feel the satisfaction of that perfect execution.*

# Abilities

>*Passive - Combat Rhythm*

**INNATE: Hoshin** generates up to 100 *Rhythm*;

* \+1 *Rhythm* when he slays a *Read* minion or monster within 800 units of a *Read* enemy champion or epic monster
* \+5 *Rhythm* when successfully avoids damage with *Slip*
* \+5 *Rhythm* upon interrupting an enemy attack, ability, dash or blink with *Preparation*
* \+20 *Rhythm* per champion and epic monster takedown.

For every 20 points of *Rhythm*, **Hoshin** gains +5 **bonus** movement speed, -4% attack windup, -2% **base** cooldown on abilities and +6% attack speed. At 100 Rhythm, **Hoshin** also gains 25 bonus movement speed on-hit and 10% omnivamp on basic attacks.

If **Hoshin** hasn't dealt or received damage in the last 12 seconds, he loses 4 stacks of *Rhythm* every 0.5 seconds, increased by 35% per subsequent tick until dealing or receiving damage or reaching 0 *Rhythm*.

*Roughly 3.75 seconds to lose all 100 Rhythm, \~15.75s total including 12s grace period.*

>*Q - Slip*

* **COOLDOWN:** 8
* **CAST TIME:** NONE
* **DISTANCE:** 75 (+25% **BONUS** MOVEMENT SPEED)
* **SPEED:** 1800

**Active: Hoshin** sidesteps in the target direction, preventing all incoming non-turret basic damage for the duration. If this movement causes **Hoshin** to leave the attack range of an enemy in the process of an attack, the attack misses.

If Slip causes at least one enemy attack or damaging ability to miss **Hoshin**, *Slip’s* current cooldown is reduced by 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80%.

**PREPARED BONUS - Counter Opportunity:** Successfully negating or avoiding an enemy attack or damaging ability while *Prepared* grants *Counter Opportunity* for 0.5 seconds, increased to 0.75 seconds if the attack or damaging ability was from a *Read* champion or epic monster.

*Counter Opportunity replaces Brazen Opportunity. Whenever a Read champion uses a Dash or Blink ability, refund 10% of Slip's remaining cooldown.*

>*W - Keen Sight*

* **COOLDOWN:** 40 / 35 / 30 / 25 / 20
* **CAST TIME:** NONE
* **RANGE:** 1100

**Passive:** Visible enemy minions, champions and monsters within range are gradually *Read* over 6 seconds. **Hoshin** takes 5 / 7.5/ 10 / 12.5 / 15% (+1% AD)(+1.5% AP) reduced damage from *Read* enemy attacks and abilities, to a minimum of 1 damage.

Targets remain *Read* for as long as they are visible and in range.

**Active:** All enemy minions, champions and monsters within range become immediately *Read*.

**PREPARED BONUS - Restoration Opportunity:** End *Preparation* prematurely and restore 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3% missing health for each enemy within range that was already *Read*.

>*E - Imposition*

* **COOLDOWN:** 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10
* **CAST TIME:** NONE

**Passive:** After dealing damage to an enemy champion, if they do not damage **Hoshin** within 3 seconds, generate 20 *Rhythm* (6 second cooldown per target).

**Active: Hoshin** channels for up to 2 seconds. For the duration of the channel, his **base** movement speed becomes 350 and can't be reduced below that amount.

He can't stop moving except from forced actions, roots, stun and suppression, and gains displacement immunity and 50% tenacity. Casting or recasting an ability besides *Keen Insight* ends the channel early.

**PREPARED BONUS:** For the duration of the channel, and 2.5 after it ends, **Hoshin** gains *Brazen Opportunity*.

*Brazen Opportunity replaces Counter Opportunity.*

>*R - Preparation*

* **COOLDOWN:** 40 / 38 / 36 / 34
* **CAST TIME:** 0.5
* **DURATION:** 8

**Active: Hoshin** sheathes his weapon, slowing himself by 20% and becoming *Prepared* for the duration. While *Prepared*, **Hoshin** may issue an augmented basic attack or recast *Preparation*, but can't use summoner spells.

**Hoshin’s** following basic attack or recast of *Preparation* is augmented based on target or what *Opportunity* he has. All variations of *Preparation* are treated as a basic attack: they hit any enemy unit a typical basic attack can; deals basic damage; can critically strike for 200% (+30% with Infinity Edge) damage; and applies on-hit and on-attack effects to the first enemy hit.

*Initial cast of Preparation can be cast and channelled while Silenced, but not while disarmed. Additionally, disarms end the channel prematurely.*

`Basic attack follow-up`

**BASIC ATTACK: Hoshin** ends *Preparation* early, striking his target with the sheath of his weapon rather than the blade itself. The attack has an uncancellable 50% reduced windup, deals 80% AD physical damage, stuns the target for 0.15 seconds, and refunds 20 / 30 / 40 / 50% of *Preparation’s* remaining cooldown on-hit.

`Default R Recast`

* **RECAST CAST TIME:** 0.35 - 0.175 (BASED ON **BONUS** ATTACK SPEED) *^((0.35 - 0.035 per 24% bonus attack speed, capped at 50% reduction at 120% bonus attack speed))*
* **RECAST WIDTH:** 80
* **RECAST RANGE:** 400

**RECAST: Hoshin** strikes with a hard, fast downstroke in the target direction, dealing 40 / 145 / 250 / 355 (+100% AD)(+25% AP) physical damage to enemies hit.

`Counter Opportunity (Q buff) R Recast`

* **RECAST CAST TIME:** 0.25% ATTACK WINDUP
* **RECAST TARGET RANGE:** 175 (+100% **BONUS** ATTACK RANGE)

**COUNTER OPPORTUNITY RECAST:** **Hoshin** performs an empowered basic attack against target enemy, dealing 40 / 145 / 250 / 355 (+100% AD)(+25% AP) physical damage, ignoring 25 / 50 / 75 / 100% of the target's bonus armour, and refunds 20% of *Preparation’s* remaining cooldown on-hit, increased to 60% if the target is a *Read* enemy champion.

`Brazen Opportunity (E buff) R Recast`

* **RECAST CAST TIME:** 0.6 - 0.3 (BASED ON **BONUS** ATTACK SPEED) *^((0.6 - 0.12 per 100% bonus attack speed, capped at 50% reduction at 250% bonus attack speed))*
* **RECAST WIDTH:** 120
* **RECAST RANGE:** 600

**BRAZEN OPPORTUNITY RECAST:** **Hoshin** performs a vicious thrust in the target direction, dealing 50 / 180 / 310 / 440 (+125% AD)(+35% AP) physical damage, reduced by 8% for each subsequent enemy hit (minimum 60% damage). For each enemy champion or epic monster hit, increase the current cooldown of Preparation by 12 / 10 / 8 / 6 seconds (maximum current cooldown 88 / 78 / 68 / 58 seconds).
