People asking for updates on other platforms, under unrelated posts
This is more of a rant than anything else because I don't really have anywhere to talk about this.
So I recently started another WIP in a fandom where I have been writing for over a year, and while my other WIP was popular already, this one went off the chart with only the first few chapters out.
I am currently working on 4 different WIPs and I update regularly - once a week at least, and it's a bit of a random item, because it depends on whether or not I am stuck/if I still like my outlines etc...
I also work full time.
Well, recently people have found my twitter, and started responding to my posts or replies to other tweets in the fandom asking for updates. This had never happened before.
Those people are people I have never interacted with. While I'm happy they are looking forward to my work, it bothers me that they are responding to tweets that aren't related in the slightest (they are about fandom stuff, but not fics)
+ I regularly tweet about my update progresses on my account and some of those people have liked those, yet are still asking for an update.
The first few instances, I have responded nicely, saying it was on they way or linking the tweet I had made, but this is getting out of hand.
I'm honestly not too sure what to do now, because it has been increasing the more I post chapters of that new WIP (and this has never really happened with my other popular wip, only in Ao3 comments, but never in a whole other platform) - I don't plan on stopping to write that WIP either because it's something I really want to write.
Has anyone ever dealt with something like this and if so, what did you do?
