How are you getting reviews for your Chrome extension?

I launched my Chrome extension a few months ago, and one thing has surprised me.

Getting users has been difficult, but getting reviews has been even harder.

I crossed my first 100 active users a while back, and now the extension has over 500 users, but I still have zero reviews on the Chrome Web Store.

I don't want to interrupt people with annoying review pop-ups, but at the same time, it feels like nobody leaves reviews unless they're asked.

For those of you who have Chrome extensions with a good number of reviews:

• How did you get your first 10, 50, or 100 reviews?
• Did you prompt users inside the extension?
• Did you email customers?
• Or did they come naturally over time?
