I'm living alone at the moment, don't have many/any friends nearby, what should I do with myself?

Men’s Input Only

So, I guess a little background first. I'm nearing 20 years old at the moment. I live in the UK and left school at 17 (we did GCSE's and A-Levels a year early), my parents sent me to the US to study for 1.5 years. Obviously, no one from my class came along, which good tbh. The real issue is that now all my friends are american. I came back to the UK in Feb, got myself a job which I'm not enjoying. I live at home. My Dad travels for work a lot, he's away pretty much all year Sun-Thu, my Mum is always busy. There aren't really any of my siblings around either. So... no friends or family.

After work everyday, I'm pretty tired, I go home, and do shit all. Sit there, watch a movie or 2... or 3. I really don't have anything to do and am super lonely.

I tried "making more friends" with apps, or just going to a bar and talking to people. It never seems to get to a good friendship or go a good way. I did manage to meet one amazing guy, but he's always busy too, so we only chill once a month ish.

I could continue going to the bar and talking to random folk, it's usually pretty nice, but then I find that I end up relying on alcohol... a lot. I'm in no-way an alcoholic, but that's only because of the fact that when I realise I've been going to the bar too often, I just stop myself. At the moment, I don't think I should go for a drink for a while.

Maybe I just rely too much on the social, but I really need one. Anyways, if anyone has any advice, it'd be much appreciated.
