I Like Getting a Bonus for Accessing My Account Through Raisin

I found a good rate and satisfied my other criteria for a bank by searching on Raisin. Will get a nice sign-up bonus after 90 days.

Raisin aggregates many banks in one place. You have one Raisin account and it can be split among various participating banks and credit unions on the platform, at the same time or sequentially.

It takes some doing to learn to navigate their website and their process, but I'm getting it done. I chose Ponce Credit Union 3.8% no penalty 4-month CD, for the rate and the values alignment. Their mission is community revitalization in the South Bronx neighborhood of NY City.

Their process: Link an existing bank account you have that will be your conduit for moving money in and out. Don't worry if your bank has a low limit on ACH transfers. That limit only applies on push transfers. You can do a pull transfer from Raisin for a large amount. Pick one of their banks and put in a dollar or more to get the ball rolling. Your Raisin account isn't fully open until your do that. That gives you access to more of the website and you may choose a different bank for your big money. When you enter the code FRESHSTART in conjunction with a deposit, that starts a 14-day window. Your bonus will be based on the sum of your deposits during that window, provided you maintain your balance for 90 days thereafter. I'm paraphrasing, so do your own due diligence. FDIC or credit union insurance is $250k per bank, direct through the bank you choose. But you don't do any dealings directly with the bank or banks you put deposits in. You have one Raisin account and it is a wrapper for the bank or banks you use on the platform. Each time I say "bank" in this post I mean "bank, credit union or CDFI." They have all three. CDFI = Community Development Financial Institution.
