Travel tips around Mostar for family

Hi,

We are a German family of five, with children aged 13, 11 and 8. We will be staying in Mostar from 18 to 25 July. What should we visit, experience or taste? We have a car and are happy to travel up to two hours from Mostar. It doesn't have to be the typical tourist destinations. Our goal is to get to know the people and the culture. Despite the age of our children, I wouldn't rule out war-related sites.
