Puppy diarrhea every couple days

My 8 month old puppy has very soft stools that seem to happen once or twice every couple of days. Here is an example:

Thursday: normal bowel movements during the day then soft stool/diarrhea at 2am

Friday: one normal bowel movement

Saturday: 2 normal bowel movements

Sunday: 2 normal bowel movements then one occurrence of soft stool/diarrhea at about 2am

Other than the inconsistent BMs he’s acting completely normal. Playing, high energy, eating and drinking normally. I just keep worrying about this one thing.

I’m a chronic over-analyzer. He’s had more than his fair share of health issues in his short life that I want to be sure I’m not doing anything to hurt him.
