Do people actually enjoy AI music challenges, or do most creators prefer working on their own projects?
I help run an AI music creative community, and we occasionally organize small AI music challenges around themes or creative prompts.
However, participation has been lower than I expected, even though many members regularly create and share AI-generated songs. It made me wonder whether creators actually enjoy structured challenges, or whether the usual contest format just does not match how people like to create.
For those of you who make AI music:
- Would you participate in a themed music challenge?
- What usually stops you: lack of time, overly complicated rules, weak prizes, or simply not wanting to compete?
- Would feedback and recognition motivate you more than credits or prizes?
- Would you rather submit directly in a Reddit thread, or join a Discord community where people can discuss the process and share their work?
- What kind of challenge would feel genuinely fun rather than promotional?
I'm mainly trying to understand what AI music creators actually want from community events. Thanks.
