Question about cage mates

As this post said, he did have a cage mate before. But she passed away.

Should I let him settle for a few months into his new home before introducing a new cage mate to him? Or is it okay to go ahead and introduce one when I get him? I want to make sure I do the correct thing. I don’t want him getting overwhelmed or overstimulated or anything like that.
