Advice for final year uni
Hello everyone, I’m a student from London and i’d be going into my final year of uni come September and I am currently shitting it because I wasn’t able to get any internships, vac schemes or open days, I applied to a bunch and have been emailing local firms in my area. I am terrified of being unable to get a grad role and I’m crying as I type this out.
In terms of experience I don’t really have much, I’ve done 2 years volunteering at my uni’s legal advice clinic and have done a handful of virtual job simulations on Forage as well as virtual internships like Legal Cheek and Brightnetwork IEUK. I was also a student mentor for foundation year students in my first year of uni. Outside of legal work experience it’s not much either, I’m really ashamed of it but I’ve never had an actual paid job, volunteered at oxfam for half a year and I work for my dads company which is in painting and decoration.
I am genuinely losing sleep and my appetite because of it. Would I be able to put my dad’s company on my cv? Should I also put the virtual internships on my cv? I’m not bothered too much if I don’t get a job in law, I just want a grad job. I’m well aware that the job market sucks of everyone at the moment so any advice would be very much appreciated.
