Is it worth spending skill points before maxing out a class to Prestige 4?

I mainly play one class (tactical atm) and my current goal is to reach Prestige 4 as quickly as possible. I’m mostly running difficulty 2 or 3 missions while leveling.

I’m wondering if it’s actually worth spending my skill points on perks during the prestige grind. Since the skill tree gets reset after around 10 missions when you reach the next prestige level, it feels like I’m spending points on temporary upgrades that I’ll lose fairly quickly.

I know team perks become much more important on higher difficulties, but right now I’m doing perfectly fine without any perks. I haven’t failed any missions, and I feel like I’m contributing properly to the team with solid damage and good support when needed.

Would it be more efficient to just save all my skill points and wait until I hit Prestige 4, then spend them on the final build? Or do the perks make enough of a difference during the grind that it’s still worth investing along the way?
