UWorld vs Kaplan prep course
I'm retaking the MCAT and looking to get a prep course. I know a lot of people dislike prep courses because of cost + self-study options, but I'm a couple of years out of school now and could really use the structure of a course to help me study. I was also an engineering major so I definitely lack the depth needed in bio/chem/etc. for the exam.
Does anyone have experience with the UWorld and/or Kaplan prep courses, and could recommend one over the other? I think my biggest concern is getting comprehensive content review. Also looking for STRUCTURE (a course that really forces me to be "on time" with my study goals), good practice questions, and representative practice tests.
For context, the last time I took the MCAT I used:
- AAMC materials (finished all FLs and SBs, did not do IQBs)
- UWorld (probably completed ~40%)
- JW for CARS
and my real MCAT score ended up being 10 pts below my FL average. Studied for 3 months, but now I have a full-time job so will probably study lighter over 6 months. Appreciate any input!
