What i should do now.

Savings

First, I’d like to apologize if this isn’t the right subreddit.

I’m a 32-year-old male with about €75,000 in savings. I’m currently unemployed; I work in the audiovisual industry(editor, colorist, etc) and I’m going through a really rough patch (last 6 months). The jobs I do find are scarce and pay very poorly.

Right now, my money is split between stocks (€30k on gold, spy, msci, a few big corpos and 2k on small startups), fixed-term deposits earning 3–4% (€30k), and about €15k in liquid cash in a high-yield savings account earning 2.5%. I’ve been considering a career change using these funds. I’ve always liked finance and have looked into various courses, but I don’t think any of them will actually open any doors for me in the sector. I feel like the longer I wait to start, the further behind I’ll be.

I’m wondering if anyone here has been in a similar situation or has switched to that field while in their thirties. I don’t think I’ve ever found myself in a situation where I had this kind of financial cushion (I live in Spain and can manage on annual expenses of €20–25k) while simultaneously feeling as lost as a teenager.

I’d love to hear your stories.
