Advice for playing walking bass lines in Autumn Leaves piece
I am new to Jazz and to Walking Bass Lines. I bought the Real Book 6th edition so I can learn chord progressions and practice navigating between notes between bars. I have been playing Root-3-5-a passing note which is either above or below the root note of the next bar. This works out perfectly for a song like Autumn Leaves because it is in 4/4 and I can do R-3-5-p on each beat for a bar. But on line 23 there is Gmin7 for half a bar and C7 for half a bar so I am not able to fit R-3-5-p for each note in that bar. What do you recommend I play in this situation? Should I play root-5th and root-5th for each note and then move to the next bar? Thank you for your help!
