Subject: Deceptive Trade-In Promotion and Intentional Forfeiture of Consumer Equity

Complaint Details:
I am filing this complaint against AT&T Mobility regarding deceptive billing practices and the hidden, unearned forfeiture of my trade-in equity.

  1. The Initial Equity: I traded in an iPhone 15 Pro in perfect working condition to purchase an iPhone 16 Pro Max. In exchange, AT&T contracted to pay me a multi-month statement credit reflecting the high market value of my asset.
  2. The Deception: I subsequently upgraded to an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I was led to believe by AT&T's marketing and sales framework that my underlying trade-in equity from the initial phone remained mine. Instead, AT&T completely eliminated my remaining monthly iPhone 15 Pro statement credits, effectively confiscating the remaining hundreds of dollars of trade-in value I had already paid them.
  3. The Trap: AT&T uses a predatory "One Promo Credit Per Line" policy that is intentionally obscured during the upgrade process. They accept consumer property (the trade-in phone) but use subsequent hardware upgrades on the same line to erase their financial obligations to the consumer.

Requested Resolution:
I demand that the AT&T Office of the President review this account and issue a lump-sum manual bill credit equal to the total remaining value of the forfeited iPhone 15 Pro promotional credits. AT&T cannot legally accept my high-value hardware and then void the payments for it.
