Priority pick up

Do drivers make more from priority pick ups or is it money that goes straight to uber corp? Multiple uber x’s available near me within two minutes, tried to get a car and none would except until I upgraded my journey to priority where I paid an additional £5. Tbh I just hate how uber exploits its customers because where are the days when you would be able to get a car asap without paying additional fees? Where basic customer satisfaction was a standard, not something you paid extra for? Honestly at this rate I’ll be switching to a local car service purely on principle because between this and the fact that passengers can be rated, which btw is absolutely insanity because why is the paying customer getting a rating?, I just can’t be asked to be dealing with their nonsense
