Are meta ads working for iOS apps

Hey, I have been exploring my distribution channels recently and I am confused if I should do meta ads or not, few of them tell it's very expensive and you have to initially burn money off around $10k before actually getting revenue, is it true, and if you guys know any distribution channels other than meta ads and organic content please share.
