Interest Check: Vetted FATFIRE Social Retreat Nov 26

I have found amazing community with other FATFirers over the years and I continuously hear that people wish it was easier to meet other like-minded individuals. As such I'm volunteering myself as an event coordinator and am exploring if people are interested in a small group vacation for VETTED FATFire (or soon-to-be) individuals. I have experience planning state-level (embassy) events and think I could reasonably pull off a great time! The goal would be to meet peers, expand social circles in a fun and relaxing setting. There will be zero allowed investment pitches, sales events or any other nonsense. All attendees will be screened prior to ensure that only FATFire people are attending.

The retreat would include organized activities (without making it feel like a conference), some of my thoughts would include: Welcome dinner, Poker Tournament, Sports Competition (Volleyball, pickleball, golf etc), interactive games, informal presentations or discussions from attendees.

Preliminary Plan: Nov 2026, 7 days in a warm weather destination. A Premium resort or private villa with service. I will propose multiple plans/locations based on initial feedback and those committed to going will vote on final selection. I will not profit from any fees or commissions; participants would book/responsible for their own flights, passports, visas, insurance etc.

The vetting process may include an application and identity verification, and (hopefully) Mod assistance for financial verification. The goal is to correctly vet us while keeping everyones private information private (no attendee lists, financial information or photographs unless individuals give explicit permission)
