Leaving Europe in 3 days and almost fell for the unlimited trap.
I was about to buy a 30 day unlimited plan for $40 because it seemed like a no brainer. First time traveling abroad and I just want my phone to work. Then I found people saying unlimited basically means 2GB a day then dialup speeds. One person said their unlimited cap was 1GB and their phone become unusable
Now I am panicking because I leave in 3 days and I don't know what to get. I don't stream, just maps, whatsapp and finding my hotel. I want the best global eSim for someone who has no idea what they are doing and doesn't want to think about daily limits or fair use policies
A friend mentioned Arrivesim which is pay as you go. No plans, no expiry. You load money and burn through local rates. But I have never used an eSim for international travel because I don't want to mess this up.
Is there a best travel esim that won't throttle me into oblivion? Should I just get a fixed data plan and pray I don't run out? My anxiety is through the roof right now.
