Hi!! This post will be a little long. I got my jetta in 2020 and it's been an decent car other than it eating through oil and coolant. July 2025 I was driving it like normal and it died, everything on the dash turned off and all I had was power steering and brakes. It ended up needing a new battery and my dad DIY'd it but it turned out to be the wrong kind and also he didn't install it correctly. Last week, it turned off just like it did last year where I had power steering and brakes but nothing else was responding. I got it towed to the closest VW dealership and they said it was due to the wrong battery. They replaced the battery and I drove it with no issue for a couple days until it died again and now there's multiple warning signs about the starter system, the parking brake, and the driver door contact switch. I took it back to the dealership and they said they wouldn't charge a diagnostic fee since the maintenance they did was supposed to fix the issues I was having but now they're saying it's a problem with the driver door harness. I'm just afraid that this is BS and after I get my car back it's going to drive a couple days and then I'm going to have warning lights come back on. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it!!!
