I think it's interesting that Dirty Deeds wasn't released in America initially. My next question is to the Americans who answered my question about Back in Black last week.

It's 1981. AC/DC just punched you in the mouth with one of the greatest albums ever made. It came out in July of 1980.

Then in the following April, they unleash Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap on America for the first time, five years after its release overseas. It's obviously the same band, but these are definitely two different lead singers.

Most metalheads completely understood what was going on, but this had to be confusing to some of the people who didn't know about the band before Back in Black, or maybe were familiar with Highway to hell, but the vocals on Highway to Hell actually sound a little more like Brian Johnson, where as Dirty Deeds sounds nothing like him.

What was the initial reaction when DDDC first came out? The song is one of their most memorable A+ accomplishments that they ever recorded, and the rest of the album is really good too, Ride On sticks out for me.

Even more so, 7 months later, For those About to Rock came out and the story goes that the Dirty Deeds release severely impacted the sales of For those about to Rock.

Do you remember this being an issue? Were you a new fan who was initially confused?

Was releasing Dirty Deeds so close to BIB and FTATRWSY and record company blunder?
