Am I naive for thinking looks are overrated when it comes to dating luck?
I feel like so many young men nowadays have a tendency to think that looks are almost everything when it comes to attracting women. Do i think that looks matter to an extent? Of course. But there’s so much more.
I used to have a blackpill mindset a few years ago, and then I started to realize that women do not function in the “oh he’s good looking, I would date him” or “Oh he’s short, I would never date him” kind of way that social media tends to make it seem.
Also, it seems like so many men take one perceived physical flaw about them, and use it to justify why dating will be insurmountably difficult for them. When in reality, attraction isn’t that black and white. A woman could notice that you’re short, bald, or skinny, etc. But maybe you have other redeeming traits. A lot of guys see women who have their own perceived physical flaws but still find them cute because there’s something about them they which they still find attractive, but they forget that women literally think the same way. Yeah sure, you might need to work on your confidence to get some of the same opportunities as some other men, but confidence is a trait that every man should learn to have regardless.
Honestly, I believe that your confidence, maturity, and ability to lead are a bigger contributing factor to your dating success than just your looks. Looks help, but social media places way too much emphasis on it. Even if you aren’t the best looking conventionally, i feel like if u get in shape, dress well, and groom yourself, it’s a lot easier to date than social media makes it seem.
I often get called naive for having this mindset tho. Am I?
