Budget-friendly laptop for university and WFH

hello all, I am in search of a laptop that can sustain working from home, university schoolwork, and general web-surfing. would prefer it not sound like an airplane taking off every time I turn it on lol

I am trying to avoid Apple, if possible, but am not particular on any other brand. I am in the US and would like to stay below $600 USD. any suggestions are much appreciated. thanks!
