[SF] Benefits of Winning the Lottery
Prince stared at the TV screen, bouncing his shoulders as his grin stretched.
“If I could win the lottery… think of how much money I could receive and what I would do with it!”
He took out his lottery ticket and peeked at the number.
His eyes whipped to the screen.
They were about to announce the winner.
He leaned closer to the TV, arms on knees, hands gripping biceps, wide-eyed, and a smile gradually shrinking into an unbent mouth.
“AND THE WINNER IS–” the TV screamed as a drumroll started playing in the background.
His jaw clenched, his feet tensed, veins were popping from his forehead, eyes were so wide that red cracks surrounded the pupils.
“NUMBER 823!”
Prince nearly ascended with arms spread before his butt hit the couch.
He shot his arms into the air, “I WON THE LOTTERY!!!!!”
Lightning struck his body.
Then the sounds of a helicopter flying by were heard.
He peered at the ceiling with excitement sparkling in his animated eyes.
CRASH!
A huge truckload of money tore through the ceiling and hit the floor near Prince with a thud.
Prince rubbernecked at the money, then he went on to feel it.
He rubbed his hands against the fresh green, he got closer to sniff the scent of millions of dollars.
Then he stood up and crossed his arms as he stared down at the money.
“Okay, a responsible man would keep this a secret.”
He paused and looked through the window, noticing the giant mall across town.
A smirk curved.
“Now… if I could just keep my mouth sh–”
LITERALLY A SECOND LATER…
He was very slowly walking out of the mall wearing the most expensive white vest and red tie, including a top hat, holding a white royal scepter. He was so turtle-slow when walking that people could absolutely notice him in the new fit.
Cars drove by with some people commenting:
“Why is he walking like that?”
“What is he wearing?”
“Who does this kid think he is?”
The next second, he was already sitting in the front seat of a fancy white limo with some random butler driving the vehicle.
He elegantly scrutinized the driver, then swayed his scepter. “Take me to the nearest park in town, will you?”
“Uh–uhm… sir, do you mind if you share the money?”
Prince rose an eyebrow, tapping his scepter against the driver’s back. “Are you questioning me…?”
“YES, MY LORD PRINCE!” pathetically cried the driver.
Then the limo stopped as millions of fans flooded the streets, shouting at Prince through the windows and banging their fists against them just to get his attention.
Prince gave them a side-eye while his lips twisted into disgust, but then formed a smirk out of pride.
“I suppose I could take a few propositions from a couple of peasants.”
He glared at the driver.
“Roll down the window.”
And so the driver rolled down the window.
Millions of screams hammered into the vehicle all at once. Prince rested his arm through the window, smirking smugly as he tipped his top hat down.
He waved his scepter through the window, “Greetings yokels. Not everyone gets a ride in here- only me, so don’t abrade the pigment.”
