How to respond to back handed compliments?

One of my best friends recently got married to a girl who for some reason makes these weird comments directed towards me. For example - we recently went out for a picnic and I was excited to try out a new shimmery body sunscreen I had purchased. I was in a halter top so the shimmers were visible in sunlight on my chest and hands. The moment she saw me she was like - omg your body is shimmering! I thought she was complimenting and got excited and said thanks it's a new sunscreen I bought! She then said - isn't this how strippers also prep their skin before shows? Wow your brave, I could never do this!

Like GURL, wtf? I literally looked at my friend still smiling (so things didnt escalate) and asked him did she just call me a stripper? He uncomfortably smiled and shrugged and she immediately put on her innocent face and said - Oh that's just what I've heard they do and you also put it everywhere! So I thought you were maybe emulating something!!

Like how do I respond in these situations?!?!?! This has strained my friendship with my best friend and has hampered my bond with him as well!
